In Quintas Energy we want to accelerate the energy transition, and we need a skillset Senior Accountant for the Italian portfolio in our Seville office to achieve this. For this role, full professional fluency in Italian is essential, given the nature of the portfolio and the frequent interactions with local stakeholders.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering accounting activities of the Italian portfolio within the finance department. This position requires a seasoned accounting professional with strong technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate the accounting team’s work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

 

Responsibilities:

General Accounting: Managing general accounts, accruals and prepayments, invoicing, and bookkeeping.

Financial Closings: Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients and completing monthly closing processes.

Audits: Preparing and coordinating internal and external audits, liaising with auditors.

Financial Control: Overseeing credit control, budgets, cash flow, and online payments.

Reconciliations: Performing balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

Billing and Payments: Supervising timely invoicing and related payments.

Tax Compliance: Preparing and filing VAT and Corporate Tax returns under Italian regulations and liaising with Italian tax authorities.

Tax Inspections: Preparing documentation and justifications for VAT inspections or penalties.

KPIs and Reporting: Preparing financial performance indicators (KPIs) for review.

Client and Supplier Relations: Interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

Statutory Compliance: Fulfilling annual statutory accounts and preparing SPV-level tagging for submission to Italian tax authorities.

Aged Debtors and Creditors Reporting: Monitoring outstanding receivables and payables.

Cash Flow Management: Assisting in short-term cash flow forecasting and preparing cash needs reports.

Financial Position Reports: Supporting the preparation of key financial position reports.

Review and coordination of the accounting team’s work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as Accountant, and at least 1 year of experience in coordinating team´s work.
  • Progressive experience in financial operations, planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Expert knowledge in Excel needed including VLOOKUP’s, formulas, and Pivot Tables.
  • Working knowledge of Italian GAAP
  • Languages: Full professional level in Italian is a must, and at least B2 in English and B1 in Spanish are necessary (all languages will be assessed during the process).
  • Excellent communication skills over email and telephone.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and in a client-facing role.
